UPDATE RELEASED Faten Rajab Fawaz of #Duma, #Damascus #Syria a teacher. Request her unconditional and immediate release from detention.


This Form Letter is used for a Syrian political prisoner of the nonviolent nature (Go-Green) send by email to Fellowship of Reconciliation   http://forusa.org/contact#contactform
They will forward a copy to proper authorities like the Arab League and the United Nations Human Rights Council Commission of Inquiry on Syria.

To the relevant authorities:

I write to request the unconditional, immediate release of  Faten Rajab Fawaz from detention in Syria’s security system.

Faten Rajab Fawaz of Duma, Damascus Syria is a teacher. She was arbitrarily detained on Dec. 26, 2011.  Arbitrary detention is illegal according to Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, endorsed by Syria in 1969 and 1976.  

In addition, I remind you that torture is illegal in Syria, according to Article 28 (3) of the Syrian Constitution. The Penal Code of Syria stipulates punishment for anyone inflicting torture.

I hold the Syrian government responsible for the safe return of Faten Rajab Fawaz. I further request that all prisoners of conscience should be released immediately and unconditionally.

What families can do in behalf of people arrested or detained

The family needs to approach a Red Cross Office and open an allegation of arrest. 
The ICRC takes up all allegations of arrest that are reported to it with the authorities in order to clarify what has happened to the individuals concerned. It endeavours to visit those detained or arrested as quickly as possible in order to ensure that the conditions in which they are being held comply with national and international standards. The information is reported back to the family.

I write to request the unconditional, immediate release of Noura Aljizawi from detention in Syria’s security system.

 Noura Aljizawi a prominent human rights activist who was abducted by the Syrian Security on 28/03/2012 and is now being held incommunicado detention at an unknown location.  There is a concern that during her detention she has been tortured repeatedly and coerced to confess crimes that she has not committed. 

It is believed that Noura is in urgent need of medical treatment and legal advice that she has been unable to receive.  Arbitrary detention is illegal according to Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, endorsed by Syria in 1969 and 1976.

Update Released Dr. Jalal Nofal (Dr. Jalal Noful ) #Druze # Damascus #Syria a Psychologist was taken during his work at the Syrian Red Crescent Hospital on April. 22, 2012.

It appears the Syrian regime has intensified its campaign of arrests recently which affected many of the intellectuals and professionals. Please help by requesting the unconditional, immediate release.

Syria’s security system.

Dr. Jalal Nofal (
Dr. Jalal Noful ) a Phyciatrist and Human rights activist from Druze Damascus Syria was taken during his work at the Syrian Red Crescent Hospital where he treats traumatized children on April. 22, 2012 when he was arbitrarily detained. There is a concern about his well being and his ability to negotiate his own release at this time. Arbitrary detention is illegal according to Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, endorsed by Syria in 1969 and 1976.
