On the plane….
AUGUST 27, 2011
by ilovemyvintage.....
I am on the plane going back to London and I thought I might as well write about my hols – I am shitting bricks as I really don’t like flying. This will keep me from thinking that we are crashing every time we have a little turbulence. I may or may have not taken something to help calm my nerves – so if I sound crazy you know why that is.

If I was to make a mental collage of all the great and happy things that have filled my batteries and my heart on this long holiday I would include these moments (they are in no particular order)..

The big smile on Dimitris face when he came to pick me up in the middle of the night from the airport…the chats in the car till we got to his place
The most honest, purest and loving hug I think I have ever gotten from his son when he saw me in the morning…
My granny’s ‘gemista’ – stuffed tomatoes & pepers – YUM!
I loved that my first sea swim of the year, was in a one of the cleanest most crystal clear seas on the mainland.
My friend was driving us somewhere and I said oh my god check out the policeman he looks like a stripper (HE DID) and she lost control of the car and we all screamed, and then laughed!
Having granita with my Dad on the day that I thought I lost my mind (work related crisis).
My mums fantastic cooking, sweet bajesus, I think I gained 5 kilos when I went to visit them in Naxos! The patato salad was to gain 10 pounds for!
My sister’s humour, oh my god, I cant even repeat what she said – I am laughing even now when I am writing this. That gal can be really funny!
My sister’s healing hands – as a massage therapist she really helped me when my usual neck pains paid me a painful visit!
Oh, oh,oh, I should mention the ride back from the taverna where we celebrated my Dads sixtiexth. My sis who just got her license drove us all back home, in the dark,in really bad roads and she did great. Well done Meg!
Walking to the beach daily only to find Curly sleeping under the umbrella…
Feebee’s excitement when she saw me!
Daily souvlaki!
The night we spent at the beach bar with friends I have know for 20 years, sipping mojitos, watching the stars falling from the sky, and laughing till we cried!
the amazing waffles & ice cream in Naxos…mmmm!!
OK the food is being served – I will stuff myself and return!

BTW we have 2 hours and 9 minutes left till we touch ground!

The food was good, grilled chicken breast with rice and veggies (it sounds boring but it was yum), I had a sprite, the dry white roll with heaps of butter (hello, calories don’t count if you are in the air) and a caramel cake thingy. I then helped myself to some of Curly’s food too. He is ignoring me, he’s watching the in-flight entertainment – an animated film.

1 hour and 28 minutes of this hell left…that is if we can actually land in Heathrow!

My dad blowing out his birthday candles – multiple times!
My mum’s chocolate hedgehog!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sister stepping in ‘chocolate’!
Driving home from our last swim for this summer, I put the radio on and this song was on, this is our song, it had a special place at our wedding, and we are very attached to it….
There’s more, there’s more but we have been told to turn off all electric equipment because we are going to land in a few mins!
