Here is another example of a letter that can be used when writing about a individual being held currently in Syria detention. 


I am writing about the case of  Tamim Kamal Salloum. Please could you let me know what medical treatment Tamim has received and when. Please tell me what he will be charged with and why he is still held in detention?  Tamim was arrested on  15-Dec-2011 for participating in nonviolent Dignity Strike demonstration in Shahba, Suwayda  Syria .  I understand he is a minor and his health has degenerated, and has been held for several months. Please use your influence to ensure that he receives proper legal representation and medical treatment and that he is charged with an internationally recognizable criminal offence and promptly brought to court or released.
